Why you’re still exhausted.
I was recently having a conversation with a client, Jess a successful woman balancing work, family, and personal expectations. On paper, she was doing everything right—eating well, exercising, managing her schedule—but day after day, her energy was flat.
We’ve been taught that energy comes from external fixes—more sleep, nutritious food or stricter routines and yes, these ARE essential pieces to the puzzle. But..there’s more to it.
Energy isn’t just a physical resource, in Jess’s case her energy wasn’t depletion by action, but by misalignment.
She was living in constant tension, torn between what she thought she should be doing and what her body and mind truly needed. This internal conflict? It’s one of the biggest drains on energy we face.
When we push against our own needs—whether it’s ignoring health signals, or living in ways that don’t align with our values—we create a state of chronic fatigue. And it’s not just physical. This is where mindset, biochemistry and energy are deeply connected.
Jess didn’t need more caffeine or stricter schedules. She needed clarity. Clarity about what aligned with her values and the space to give herself permission to pursue it.
Here’s the truth: sustainable energy doesn’t come from doing more. It often comes from cutting the noise and honing in on what truly fuels you.
It’s about recognising when you’re pushing against your natural rhythms and making space for alignment, not just activity.
So, the next time you’re feeling drained, ask yourself—are you just doing more or placing more pressure on yourself, or are you doing what’s right for you?
When you start aligning with what truly matters, energy starts to flow.
